Removing seats
Hiya,
I have purchased seat covers for my Civic hatch 93. I have tried to remove the back seats in order to get the new cover on but I didnt want to force it out in case I broke the seats. IS there a easy way to remove them???
Thanks
Monty

RE: Removing seats
Removal of rear seats (hatchback):
TOOLS REQUIRED:
= 10mm Socket/wrench
= Pliers
Using the pliers, remove the plastic spacing clips on each side of the seat-back pivots (1 on each side).
Once these spacers are removed, you can slide the seat-backs from side to side. Push the drivers-side seat-back towards the passenger side, and the outer pivot should come loose from the hole.
Do the same thing to the other side and remove both seat-backs with hatch carpeting attached.
To remove the bottom seat cushion, there is one 10mm bolt to the rear of the seat (where the seat-backs used to be). Once this bolt is removed, the entire bottom cushion can be flipped up towards the front of the car. The front edge of the seat-cushion is held in place by metal tabs, and can be easily lifted out at this point
thats for a 4th gen but should be about the same...hope it helps

RE: Thank you
hi. i also bought leather seat covers for my 05 civic lx 4dr. i was able to take out the rear seat, just unbolt and pop the front up. but the problem is removing the side cusions (because it's a 60/40). i unbolted the bottom of the side cushion and tried yanking up the piece. It's already moving a bit but it seems to get stuck at some point. could anyone help. thanks
