Default Replacing 96-98 Civic indiglo gauges BACK to OEM?

Ok, so my used 98 Honda Civic DX was outfitted with a indiglo gauge faces when I bought it. I want to restore my gauges back to the OEM. So I have two questions...

1. As far as what I can purchase, everything that is OEM on eBay includes the entire instrument cluster and not just the gauge faces. It it possible to just purchase the OEM gauge faces and replace the indiglos or am I missing something here?

2. If I have to replace the entire instrument cluster, how can I get the new odometer to match the miles I currently have on my existing odometer?

Nope, they must be wired in with an inverter.

My question basically is what exactly did the previous owner replace or take-off from the OEM cluster in order to install the indiglo?

IM almost positive that the indiglo's just slide over and then you wire them to either headlights, or cluster lights.

I don't think that the previous owner took off anything, all he/she did was add the gauges on top of the OEM gauges and wire up the indiglo

They're overlays, dude. Just take them off. Remove the wires from wherever they are tapped in, and then use electrical tape to fix the break in the insulation. Simple as that.

dito. just pull em off and tape over the electrical wires. JUST DO NOT PULL THE NEEDLES!!!!!!
the needles can bust off pretty easily so try not to put much pressure on them!

remove the 2 screws on the black cluster bezel and remove the 4 screws that hold the gauges in and unplug all the wire harness plugs off the back of the cluster and unplug the indiglow wires as well and tape over those wires so they dont short out on anything.

then push on the side clear plastic tabs and pull the plastic cover off the front.
then twist the one bulb uptop counter clockwise and pull the one with the wires out and let it hang, now do the same to the black tabs as well and pull it off as well. and the black plastic bezel with all the indicators should just lift right out.
now with a small philips screw driver remove the 2 screws on each gauge face and simply lift off the ugly indiglow overlays and carefully slide them over the needles just like a onion ring and then put the screws back in the gauges. and dont overtighten the screws just snug em up. and put everything back together again and ur done.
very easy. take you about 15mins tops.

Done, thanks! It was simple enough.

I untaped and unplugged the wires from the indiglo gauges that were leading to what looked like an inverter that was factory wired to the car's headlight circuitry. I then removed the gauges.

I was wondering if that inverter I left inside was aftermarket or factory? Either my gauges are back to OEM w000!

inverter isn't factory, it's part of the indiglo thing

ya its what powers those overlays. i would remove it also if you wanna try and sell those overlays.
but youll have to cut those wires and tape them up. one should be black and thats just a ground. the other goes to the headlight circuit with a red wire i believe. just cut and tape it over rally good.
