Default Shift *****

I have a 2004 civic ex. I have done a little bit with it with tinting and adding a spoiler but now its time to go inside. I am tired of the stock shift ****, its weak, small, and cheap. I need some suggestions on some good shift ***** and how I might be able to tie them into the stock boot. Thanks much! Take er' deep!

What do you mean tie them in to the stock boot?

What are you looking for? Our sponsor over there can make a custom one for you.>>>>>

They have type-r ***** on ebay or Skunk2, of course I dont' see the point in spending 80 bucks on a shift ****, but that's up to you. I have a Jackson Racing one and it's cool, although it's a little too long I think.

Oh yeah, welcome to HCF.

My current **** clips into the boot, so with any universal **** it would just screw on and not nessesarily keep the boot up to the ****. I just dont want the boot sliding down and having the sift rod exposed lookin all sloppy.

Yeah, I know what you mean. Mine does that a little. I am constantly messin with it while I am driving, of course I have an aftermarket boot too. I have never seen an aftermarket **** that clips or ties, but I am sure they are out there.

Kip,

If you removed your shift **** and let the boot just sit there, how much of the shifter rod is exposed? Our locking collar contains a counterbore hole that allows the collar to sit low over the shaft, possibly negating the need for a clip. If you can give me that measurement, I'd be able to tell you if there will be any gap.
I'd also like to see that clip you are talking about, so any pics would be helpful. I have installed quite a few shift ***** in 1995-2000 Civics and have not had to deal with the clip. A few Civic owners with newer Civics have been using my ***** without issue, but the more info I receive, the better.

Thanks!

Dave

^ yeah basically the same thing happens to me... I have the stock boot but there's no way to keep it up. Does anyone have a boot specifically for a short shifter? do those exist?
