I bought 2 cans of night shades a long time ago for my tail lights on my 1998 Civic EX coupe in black. But i recently found a set of stock 99-00 tails for $100 on craigs list. I was always skeptical about the appearance of the night shades on a black car. My question is what do you guys think would overall be better?

 

99-00 tails no doubt....and then if u wanna tint them, just tint the top half and leave the bottom white.

 

I personally like the stockers but with the BOTTOM tinted
all up to you though
if you're skeptical though then definitely go stocker

you can buy the stock tails and then tint them later if you want. Look at addiction2bass' car. He has a black 6th gen coupe with tinted tails. Looks super nice IMO

 

What I did was got the chrome Euro lights in my car and had them normal for a while, (granted i have a 95 Civ not a 98) then I decided i wanted something new - so I blacked my lights. I suggest that you use them stock for a while, if you get tired of them or just want a change then do the nightshade.

I got them last night and put them on last night. The difference is amazing. I don't know about you guys but i think the stock 96-98 tails are ugly as hell. These ones look soooooo much better.

Also, I looked at addiction2bass' car and that does look nice, but I think i am going to keep them the way they are for a while.
