Angry Sunroof smashed on its own

hi i was drving along today and out of noware my sunroof just smashed in to millions of little pieces! anybody heard of it before? IT WAS TINTED SO IT COULD HAVE BEEN THE tint shrinking and cracking it but i just dont know!

ITS A 1997 CIVIC COUPE LS

were you opening it or tilting it up?

how??? i have never heard of this happening and it certainly would not have been the tints fault to do that. Has your car been in an accident? maybe the frame is damaged and you hit a bump

no its not been in an accedent. it was tilted up and i was doing about 80mph. thinking it could have been a stone or somthing.

If it was tilted up and you were going that fast then a rock or road debris is definitly possible

ya if tilted up you probably just got hit my a rock just hard enough to shader it... its safety glass so if it breaks it just shatters!
if you didnt have it tinted glass really would have gone everywhere!
tint can not hurt glass.... but the tint can just go bad and look like crap.LOL

My sister claimed that the same thing happened while she was driving my old 92 Civic. I didn't believe her, but I suppose a rock could have hit it. She was on the highway too.

kinda just driving and there was some fu-ck off big bang! thought i hit a bird or somthing,

ghess what, the insurance just rang, they going to do it but i got to pay £60 excess. so i rang around and the cheapest one i could find would cost me £500 fitted! lol so got to go through the insurence!
