I haven't looked through the threads to see if this has already been covered so I apologize if this is redudant. I have a 95 hatchback and I want to get it tinted. From what I understand there are various levels of tinting that are legal (Arizona). I'm farely certain you can't tint your front window, and the rest of the windows can be a certain percentage? But, I will most likely end up getting illegal tinting so that doesn't really apply.

What is the normal percentage for the front side windows, back seat windows, and rear window? I would like to have the rear window as dark as possible because I plan on putting my subs back there and don't want anyone jacking them. With this said, can anyone give me some pointers on the usual percentage. I don't necessary want it legal, but not too noticeably illegal.

I got a quote for tinting my car and the quote was $189. Too high, or about right? Thanks!

 

Well the usual tinting levels are 5%, 20% and 35%. The lower the darker. 5% is what you see on limos.

 

not sure for AZ bro but here in cali the back windows you can have as dark as 5% also known as limo tint. here you cant have ANY tint on your front windows. good luck

 

im in utah and u can limo (5%) ur backs and they just raised it to 43% for the fronts, id go about 35 though(what i had on my last hatch) and it looks nice and you wont be hassled for it

 

i live in saskatchewan canada, and you can have any tint on the back 3 windows, and no tint on the front. but in my city, people rarely get a ticket for it

 

If you don't want them looking inside of the back, go with a 5%. The sides will look good with an 18 or 20%. you will still be able to see out of the sides and they will still be dark without being too dark.

Yeah, 35% looks good, but some people want a little darker. 20% or 18% is about as dark as i would go on the front. To me, 5% is just too dark unless you are trying to hide something. (stereo equipment or something)

 

I have 20% on both of my vehicles, and it's nice. Go with 5% to hide the subs.
