Updated pictures of my car
the automatic wasnt my ****in choice. it doesnt make me happy that i have to drive an auto. but untill my car is paid off and i get a ****in job i cant get a new one
yea but i dont think my car is worth much mabye like 2500 with a new bumper TOPS. think i could find a good 5 speed civic for that much?
I know this example is a del Sol, but you can find 92-95 Civics for similar prices such as $2500-$3000.
I used to have an automatic 93 Civic DX (D15B7) with I/H/E, H&R springs, KYB AGX shocks, strut bars, and stereo system including amp/subs. I borrowed $2200 from my dad (promised him I would have the money back within 2 weeks) and bought this del Sol Si (5pd, D16Z6 engine). I swapped all my parts over, converted the del Sol to stock, and then sold the Civic for $2500. I spent about $400 repairing things on the del Sol that I knew needed repair when I bought it.
So in the end I ended up paying about $100 plus the cost of registration and title transfer to get what I wanted, as opposed to paying $1000+ for a auto to manual converion and mini-me swap (D16Z6 head on D15B7 block). Also, I pay less in insurance.
When you sell your car, try to aim selling it towards a teenage kid who wants a Civic but doesn't know anything about cars... that way, you can act like the car is better than it is without them knowing the difference.
haha imma teenage kid. actually im a young adult haha. but i would have to talk my parents into letting me get a new car. they are strict as ****. i had to talk them into lettin me get my SRI.
Alright, I've got a solution for you child (hehe):
1st: Find a 5 speed transmission and axles from another d16 motor (preferably a y8 or z6)
2nd: Find a complete head assembly with throttle body from a EX model and start a mini-me swap.
That way, you have more power, a straight drive, and you don't have to sell the car. All that should cost under a few hundred dollars.
