Default Valve Cover

I wasn't sure to post this on engine or appearance....

A d16z6 valve cover will fit on a d16y8? Right?

I'm pretty sure but I just want to be positive.

Also, If I do paint a valve cover or take it off am I going to need to replace the seals?

I've always been perfectly happy with my d16y8 cover, so I dunno about the first Q:

As for when you take one off, you should probably replace the seal/gasket, especially if it looks worn, but use your best judgement. I replace gaskets any time I remove a metal to metal part.
