Vinyl Side Bumper
When installing a vinyl on the side of your car, do you just go right over the side bumpers? It seems like it would look bad/not fit right and that might be a trouble spot when it comes to peeling up a year later. What should i do when i wnat to install my vinyl?
there is a definate technique to applying vinyl. First concern is applying it crooked or getting a big wrinkle. Next is bubbles. For working around the side trim, I'd worry about the main surface of the car first and ignore the air gap around the side trim. Then slice the vinyl and tuck it down into the corner where trim meets paint and cut off any vinyl that covers the trim. If you have extra vinyl you can cut pieces to go over and around the side trim to make the design pop over it.
In general when applying, make sure to press and smooth in one direction to squeeze out air bubbles before they appear. ..oh, and wash the car first
~or just find someone who's done it a few times
