Default Well, they aren't Brides or Recaros

My friend decided to start selling his old car stuff, which included these seats... for $300 for the pair (The Tenzo R rally seats retail at something like $260/each), you bet I jumped on it. Now I just have to find a manual driver's-side seat rail; as nice as having a power seat is, the seat sits so freaking high and there's a little too much wobble (due to the power seat rail) for my tastes... still, this will do for a few weeks.

Also, I might be turboing the mustang (superchargers... who uses those?). I'm thinking I'll probably something like a Mitsu 16g... My friend has a mack truck turbo that I'm tempted to use, but it might be just a little too big for a little 3.8l lol.

lookin good man. a mitsubishi turbo huh? american muscle meets japanese performance lol. The mack truck turbo would be tempting for peak power but yeah it may take too long to spool even with a 3.8 (not big by american standards but for tuner car standards thats a big motor )

lol you can tell I grew up with imports... I'd take a turbo way before I'd settle for a blower lol

And I see two downfalls for the mack truck turbo: 1) It would probably be 3k or 4k rpm before it hit full boost and 2) I doubt it would even fit in the engine bay without moving things around.

I'd like to use something extremely common like a 14b, but those are way, waaaay too small for a mustang. I'm thinking either a 16g or 20g will be a little bit better.

Off-topic, but I'm finally used to saying "headers"

The first part you could deal with if you didnt mind lag (although mustangs don't rev to 7-8,000+ rpms like civics so 3-4K would be pretty late), but not fitting in the engine bay is a bigger problem lol, no pun intended

and yeah, usually on here when people say "headers" they immediately get corrected or reprimanded, but you can actually say it and have it make sense

lol it takes a while to get used to speaking in terms of V-configurations... and yeah, 3 or 4k rpm is pretty late when your redline is 5500 x.x (it would be pretty bada** to have the rear end come out on you halfway through the rpm range in 3rd gear though lol)

Yeah you might want to stick to something that will boost you sooner, pick something that would be almost too big on a civic and it should be good for a mustang lol.

and slightly off topic but what made you decide to try muscle after being tuner? (not that there is anything wrong with it, they are a different breed of car but deserve respect in their own right). tonight i'm gonna try drivin my friends '73 nova that he just finished restoring with a bored out 350 and plans for a turbo, or turbos i guess lol

old school muscle is very fun to drive BUT not forgiving in 2 areas... first... obvious they love gas as much as posible! second cops will not give you a break for any tickets! and boy are they easy to get with a old school with that much power!

i look at my 66impala every day since its outside my window and as much fun as i had driving that car i need to NOT drive it to keep my insurance rates down and gas milage up.LOL

c-lo, that's why I'm thinking along the lines of a 16 or 20g turbo... I need to call this guy on craigslist, he's selling a 16g for $100, but the ad was posted at the beginning of the month. And basically, I was in the market for a 5-speed (my civic was an auto and I'm too lazy for a tranny swap) rwd car when I happened upon the mustang for a decent price, so I took it. I really, really wish I had a car that could rev to 8 grand, but then again, I wuv my low-end torque

And w00t! I got 24.75mpg on my last tank of gas in the mustang... jeez, it's sad that I'm celebrating that lol

Yeah those would both probably spool up without excessive lag on a 3.8 and would make good numbers as well with tuning. And I know what you mean lol, I'd be pissed/worried if I managed to get 25mpg in my civic, but thats a respectable figure for a car like that.

Yeah I have grown used to cars that rev to at least 6.5K rpm, so whenever I see a diesel engine or some muscle car that almost all rev to 5.5K or less I am happy to drive a high revving 4-banger. But then again the torque from any of those things would destroy mine and the power is good despite the low rpm band. There is just something exhilarating about taking an engine to 8,000rpm tho lol (I test drove an s2000, no intention/money to buy it but i was bored that weekend and it would rev to 9.5K!!! and that thing was crazy)
