what fog lights you guys use?
I have a 96 civic all stock. I'm looking to get some driving lights since the headlights i have aren't super bright. I have looked at piaa and hella but it looks like they are all tinted blue. Anyone have any of these? Anyone know of driving lights that don't look blue? I have thought about HIDs but i want something that has some distance since i routinely driving at night doing 90 (thanks escort radar detector
Ahh do you want Fog lights or new bulbs for your headlights? if you are referring to the headlights then get some HID's they will run you about $250 but one of the forum sponsors has them for $220 right now too
No i want driving lights. Fog lights have wide angle beam. Driving lights have pencil beam for distance. HIDs will just enhance the light pattern i already have unless i buy a different headlight housing. I will probably get a little more distance out of them, but not like i will with an actual driving light.
ahh i think you may have your info mixed up. the HID's will give better distance as well brighter light cause they have a better light output. so you would be able to see better. for example you see BMW's and MB's drive around and they have really bright headlights those a HID's you don't NEED a new housing for those. you can use the stock housing if you get the right HID's sized bulbs. The things you are thinking about are Projectors that project the light outward. but with those if you get the wrong ones people actually say they give out LESS light then the OEM housing
I know you can get HIDs for a stock housing. But the light pattern will not change since the housing is what determines the light pattern. I know the distance will increase, but not dramatically since my light housing wasn't designed for distance. With my brights on, the lighting will be fairly good if i got HIDs. But i'm looking for a driving light to mount in my front bumber so i can have the long distance without having the brights on. I want something like these bad oscurs. I was just curious if anyone has had any experience with them.

Notice they make them in fog and driving.

Ahh ok, i get ya now, i honestly don't know anyone with those, everyone usually just gets the OEM fogs or HID's... some people get Projectors, but like i said they can actually give worse light output for the cheep ones
So it appears that it's going to be a pain in the butt to get the driving lights installed. So now i'm considering switching to HIDs. Is there a brand that is better than others? Do you recommend changing the headlight assembly to something with better reflective properties? I know with real HIDs, the bluer they are, the cooler they are, and the less light output you are getting. If i'm going to buy some, i would rather not buy some cheap setup that will be marginally better than what i have now. Suggestions??
well im not suure wat color ur car is or what color scheme your looking for....to tell you the truth i think you may be a little confused of what your lookin for too lol but i have these and many other ppl on this site can vouche for them

they take 30 minutes to install urself its like 6 bolts and some screws so its not difficult at all and they have worked great for me for a while now
regardless of what housing you get (as long as they rnt projectors) the reflective properties are going to be identical, all of the headlights have to meet standards regarding the reflection of the light to be made legal and safe, and since they are made from the same mirror like material, where their aiming is what a drivers eye could really notice different from any 2 different housings, and that is adjustable too. so if u just want betetr lighting, get the bulbs, if you want a little style get the housings
