Default what sub grill do you like?

grill 1, black frame:

grill 2, spider grill:

*update with pic*

used a hasp on each side, keeps sub secured and I could take it out if I ever need to get anything underneath.

spider grill seems to be a bit much IMO, even though it looks like it might protect a little bit better, but that black grill is clean and looks like it'll do the job just fine.

Why do you need a grill for the subs?

well a grill is good for any car that you haul stuff with! that way it keeps your stuff from hiting the sub and marken it all up...

ive been meaning to buy just havent yet.... the way im going to do mine is get another board to put over the front face of the subwoofer cutout around the sub and port for a flush look and then with some simple steel rods and a tube bender, drill some holes thru the wood piece after carpeting or covering and paint the rods and stick them thru the holes and bend the rods over to lock them inplace. then just attach the board to the box.
hardest part is using a bass test cd and find out the max escursion of the sub so it doesnt hit the grill...

id prefer a custom grill myself. ive also thought about doing a box like the old JL audio wedge boxes with the large oval front opening around the sub and port.
i need to do something so i dont have anything hit my new typeR sub.
