will air bags go off??
you wont be able to take out just the piece that you want to paint. it is permanently attatched to the airbag. you will unplug it. then take the bolts out. then pry gently under the plastic part and then lift the whole airbag out. you wont see the acctual bag. its all inclosed in one unit. hope that helps
i work in a bodyshop so work with air bags alot and all i do is disconect the battery for half an hour and then do the same when i go to put it back in. the ones i hate the most are curtain air bags there huge lol
you can take the piece off if u take the time and pry it as far as getting it back on i wouldn't know i left mine out......but it probably is possible....yes i did that to my car jus check the gallery my car is in there....yea the plug powers it and it is like a all plugs that u push on the part and you can take it out....as far as the bolts on the bottom i believe there are only two or three and if i remember correctly they were like bronze color jus unbolt what u see and lift from bottom to make sure u got them all the reason u have to pry it with a screw driver is cause it has a lip under the dash to kind of pinch it in place.....any other questions feel free to ask..
i thought about taping off my dash before, but i did a full full interier in a sunbird, and it dosent look good at all if u just tape around a piece, but ya, so ill disconect the battery for about half a hour, take the glove box out, unbolt the bolts, unplug the wire and pry that piece off, paint,....to put it back in ill pop it in, bolt it back down, plug it in, and reatch the battery...and this is a garentee that my air bags will not go off? right? tell me if i missed anything, thanks for all the help
the interior i ripped out and prepped everything what a pain u might have to prep and spray twice i did for all the pieces due to all the cleaning crap i put on the plastics..but my buddy sprayed it in his garage and i helped him lay the flames but he did the sprayin. i never used a spray gun before he let me do some pieces smaller ones it was a great experiance.. thanks by the way
