yeah, but that happens to all window tints... that's the reason people go back to get theirs re-done every few years or so.......

ehh...i don't agree with you. the first car i had tinted looked fine, no peeling, no bubbles, etc for 7 years. if you get a cheap brand, it will fade/turn purple, and peel and bubble.

well i meant like every 4-5 years not really like 2 years.... but yeah if you have a really good one, then you wont need it re-done for several, several years....... or maybe never! lol

Mine's been going strong for four and half years, and my car lives outside.

I think I'd rather dish out the extra 50 bucks for the Lifetime warranty and professional install. There aren't many things I wont do myself to a car, but I dunno. I guess I just really like the thought that if it does peel, fade, whatever, I can just take it in and have it all redone.

Professional install is where it's at. Unless you install it in a 100% dust free envrionment and clean the hell out of the glass you're going to start getting bubbles real soon. Bubbles are caused by a reaction with the dust (as they decay) under the tint film, which creates a small amount of CO2 which makes the bubble. Peeling is ussualy because of crappy adhesive.

Don't roll down your windows for the first few days and let the car sit outside so the sun can bake the tint on better.

The shop who is going to tint my windows wants to do my rear window with what they called a Metalic film.............both doors, both side peepholes and the rear for $175. Does anyone have this metalic tint on their defroster and what do you think about it?
