Default SIMOTA Cold Air Intake

Vehicle: 2004 Civic LX Sedan
Product: SIMOTA Cold Air Intake
Vendor: WestImports (HCF Vendor)
Cost: $80 SHIPPED!
Rating: 9 of 10

My next post will have pictures so dont worry. I ordered it and was delivered to me within a couple days, waaay earlier than I expected, A+ to the Simota Guy.
I ended up having a friend install it and overall it took him just about 45 minutes to do it. He only had to take the battery out to get his hands in there to bolt it down....

THE ONLY THING THAT I AM DISSAPOINTED ABOUT is that it doesnt sit in front of the wheel in my civic... in fact, it sits right behind the fan almost center of the car. That makes me nervous for when the rain falls next week. That is the only reason why I didnt give it full points. SO! My friend says he is going to modify it just a little bit by cutting a piece out of the pipe to retrofit a bypass valve in there.

PERFORMANCE is incredible! Super happy I got it. I feel it better when I am near the end of 3rd gear and when I'm in 4th is where it really makes a difference... I have been driving like a madman with my wife today so I threw off my gas pretty bad... Next week I will test the mileage!

*NOTE* My front upper strut doesnt fit anymore so I have to get a new one that works with aftermarket intake... that one was my bad, I knew I shouldn't have bought it... impulsive shopper...

Here are the pix... Also something to know, a breather does not fit on an 04 LX Sedan... there is stuff in the way and the breather is too big... so I have a $10 part to return to NAPA

Just put on the AEM bypass valve, just in case... costed me 60 bucks.. not worth doing a write up for, it works in the rain...

How did you gas mileage turn out after you installed this cold air intake? I am looking to add a cold air intake to my 04 EX, what I am after is good low end and mid range, also looking to increase gas mileage if possible. Any recommendations?

Thank you,

It is alot better than stock... but with an intake you naturally want to drive harder, thus poor mileage. I recommend Simota's (westimports) intake, it really was nice while I had it on... but I stuck with my Injen SRI because it fits under my strut bar...
