so 96-98 civic fogs can be ran without the headlights??
correct, you can run them with your running lights.

does anybody know what the factory fog lights were for a 96 honda civic ex sedan

were they like these shown? was wondering and tossing around the idea of installing some but I want them to be just like what the factory would of installed at the time.
the pair shown in this diy is for 1996 to 1998 model front bumpers including coupes, sedans, and hatchbacks.

not to be a pain in the side but if I ordered foglights with the car when I bought it new these are what I would get?

Thanks for the correction, I'll notify Fiirkan if it hasn't been corrected already.

The depo ones work independently from the headlights by wireing directly to the battery. You can even have them on without the car started, with headlights off, low beam, high beam whatever.

I got to say I'm really happy with these. I was skeptical by reading mixed reviews about Depo on other forums. But the bulbs are pretty bright, more than I thought they were going to be, and the fitment was great. The button even lights up to tell you if it's on or off.

Great DIY!!!! Used it the yesterday to put mine on. one thing though, the 5x60 bolts or w.e they were, the long ones, lol, did you thread them in before you put the fogs in, or after? cuz i did after and it was a pain, but then i went back and read it over and yours i believe were in before you slide the lights in position.

^^ yea, you put the 5x 60 bolts in first. It said in the directions to put them in temporarily... and thats it? I just put them on first then realized that the foglight has a groove that fits over it which is the whole point I guess.

Default thinking of buying some

okay thinking of taking the fog light plunge

does anybody have any good recommendations on where to buy a pair? don't really want ebay ones?

also how would I tie them into the headlights so when I turn off and on the headlights they will go off and on (if the switch is turned on) it will also give me the chime reminder if I leave my headlights on.
(1996 honda civic ex sedan)

thanks for the write up - gave me the bug to do it so now I am think I will put on the todo of things to get done. won't be right away but will be on the list.

^^ I'd make a new thread about it.

At least the gravedigger knows how to search, right?
