I started about two years ago, with an intake, and short shifter and exhaust...I didn't really know anything about working on cars.

I read a LOT, searched and looked at a lot of other people builds and work. When I think about doing something I learn how to do it, even if I end up not doing it. Here I am now, with my DD ripped up doing a wire tuck this week... It's overwhelming right now, but I just keep learning as I go and trying to be patient. Having people around with you tools and knowledge is always helpful when you get stuck!

i mostly learned from forums, reading magazines and DIYs, and asking my friends (some are mechanics) for help with difficult stuff.

i started by jumping a little deeper in the car mod pool than most here, a full cosmetic restoration of a 1986 monte carlo ss (bondo was my friend), with several performance mods (i.e. custom full length true dual exhaust - no bolts, welded)

check out this ridiculous DIY i found linked on cardomain last night

its not honda related, but its amazing DIY craftsmanship and creativity... this guy is building (completely from scratch) an all steel Hummer H1 replica, built to fit on an '80s F150 chassis. Its incredible.

it was mostly a cosmetic restoration... itd been in CT and RI all its life and had gotten rusty but still only had 115000 miles on it so it ran fine. and i did more than just bondo it there were patches and panel replacements done as well as some minimal standard performance mods. peep the cardomain page before u hate on it plz... i put a lotta effort into it, got a lot of rewards and learned a lot http://www.cardomain.com/ride/3180793
