Any golfers?
Those ones you have linked will be more than fine for your first few years. The main thing is getting oversized and cavity-back irons, which those are. The woods there will be fine too. They sell sets at wal-mart for around that price that come with 1-3-5 wood, 3-Pw irons, putter, and a stand bag for like $120. My buddy just bought a set and they are sweet.
The best irons I ever had were Tommy Armour knock-offs I got for $150.
Before you buy off the net though, go somewhere and play around wiht a few different styles. Confidence is the biggest thing in golf and you need to be able to look down at your club and feel like you can hit them. If you think they are funny looking or something you will have a tough time of it.
Graphite, steel, rifle, stiff... you will learn what you need down the road. For now just get cavity-back, oversized irons and the biggest headed woods that they have. I would think about picking out your own putter though since not everybody like the style that comes with those sets.
The putter is the most important club in the bag. Make sure you like the one you have.
Oh yeah, and take 40's advice on the *****. Those XL-3000's are pretty cheap and much more forgiving than most. But mostly cheap is good since you will lose a lot of them when you are starting. I can play with $5 or $6 ***** because I can play with the same ball for the whole round, but Pro-VI or Top-Flite, it doesn't really matter to me.

Been golfing here for a little over a year and the lowest I've scored was a 90. Alot of my family and relatives golf but I didn't pick it up until Fathers Day of 04'. I play with Tommy Armour knock off irons and an Oddessy putter. Not a two ball but I really like it. *****, definately not Pro V 1's. Can't afford to hit $3.00 into the woods every so often. I play with what's in the bag. And I have various driver and woods. Don't know why I didn't start earlier.
