In a recent thread (https://www.hondacivicforum.com/m_527770/mpage_2/tm.htm), several moderators and administrators verbally attacked and insulted HCF member Addiction2Bass. These attacks were alarming to me because the criticisms seemed largely based on Addiction's writing style. If you are able to look beyond Addiction's unique online personality, he is to me a humorous story teller who regularly contributes helpful and interesting advice to HCF members. I would like to say that I was very disappointed in how Addiction was treated and feel that he deserves an apology.

 

Well good for you Ron, sticking up for what you believe is right.

I agree with the moderators and administrators, that his addiction's actions were very childish and he did make a very poor decision, but from a professional stand point, no one should be criticized very harshly, especially not by the moderators and administrators who are the leaders in the forum.

We are all a family here.

What point did the comments serve besides simply hurting the guy's feelings? I don't understand why you would condone such mean spirited words. Addiction was publicly reprimanded for his juvenile style of writing. Were the comments from moderators and administrators any more mature?

 

I agree. The mods are supposed to make sure the forum environment is clean and insult free. What we saw there was an example of the mods doing exactly what they are supposed to be moderating.

 

The thread veered off track, and opinions were stated. It's that simple. You want to see harsh, go to Honda-Tech.

If you have a problem with someone's post, PM them about it.

We do make sure the forum, stays within acceptable limits, for mods and admins have the final say, we think that someone is being a douche, we discuss it, determine if they need to be givin a smuck in the back of the head to make em stop or not.

all in all we have the final say, think it's not fair, or don't like it? you know where the door is...

 

We aren't professionals, we are volunteers, and we are still allowed to have our own opinions and suggestions (such as asking someone to type legibly, or drive responsibly).

 

Exactly. If his feelings were truly hurt, than I think its just another key factor in a low level of maturity.

We're all growns up here (for the most part), and I think its best if we all act, as well as type our respective ages.

that busted hubcap was my first damge ever had on either of my civics and i thought it was funny.... it was just a small curb? i mean come on how many of you guys have hit curbs? i know alot of you have.... almost everyone has bumped a curb!

woulda been different if i was saying I WAS RACING THIS MUSTANG and then i hit a huge chunk of ICE/SNOW and slide into a curb.... but its nothing like that~!
