Whats the price on it? There is probably a car that performs as good and looks better in the price range.

I think they are going to start in the $26k to $28k range. It is BMW's econo series.

And drive in a sardine can along with having to rev the **** out of it to get to it's good power, also with no hard top model. These are labled entry level cars from BMW and will no doubt keep up with a S2k in a strait line stock if not beat the pants off of it. On top of that your comparing a used car to a new one because by the time this car hit's the streets the S2k will be bye bye from showroom floors. Plus the cars are just in totally different segments so IMO it is not fair to compare because most that will buy this car are not interested in a S2000 and vise versa.

i love bmw's. maybe thats why im a member of m5board.com...
but as for a 1 series M, it will never happen. added to that, the m1 was always a supercar to begin with so to make an M out of an economy car...well, they wont.
the new m3 hasnt been released in the US yet either...but it is sick.
Hate to correct things but they are going to make a one series M version. Second what is so economical about a twin turbo 300hp car? If your shooting for economical model the TDI is the best bet.
