Default cops and cars...the facts

I've been navigating the forum and noticed a lot of threads with questions and beefs about cops and what they do. I felt I should give some of the back story that is often ignored or that people are obviously ignorant about.

First off, let me say that every profession has its jerks, but the majority of public servants are good people. They aren't in it for the money or fame, cause I can tell ya that aint the way it is.

Since this is a car forum, thats what I will discuss. No one likes to get pulled over, period. A lot of folks have been saying why don't they leave tuners or teenagers alone and quit hassling us over piddly stuff like expired tags, small traffic violations and go after the murderers and rapists and such. Well, the fact is that more people are killed in accidents involving stupid driving practices each year than are murdered or raped. A cops job is to protect and serve.

Incidentally, do you know how most violent crime fugitives are apprehended other than people turning them in? Traffic stops. Drug dealers, people on the run, and psycopaths often forget to do the mundane things of life like pay bills, renew their tags etc. because their lifestyle keeps them high, too busy, or unable to use personal information for fear of getting caught. Thats why cops are cautious when doing routine stops. Not to mention being killed durring a traffic stop by a violent act or being hit by another vehichle is the number one cause of death in the line of duty.

Give 'em break. Every situation is about the context that surronds it. No one likes to admit they were wrong or broke the law, but Cops get paid to enforce the laws our civic leaders ratify. If the laws suck, and many do...vote.

Not every disgruntled fast food employee spits in your food, but some do.[:'(]

Yeah, its hard for them(cops) to have a healthy attitude sometimes because they are trainned to assume the worst for safety reasons. They usally deal with people on the worst day of their lives. Its a tough gig. A lot of these guys are in their ealry twenties, its a lot of responsibility to look after people at that age, especially when you have the power to legaly take someones life to perform your job. Its a big responsibility.

its ok,its not a sore subject. I hated to see her go, but I had to think about my family. But I got those at a great deal and they were actually for sale, but ended up going with the car when I sold it.

Bummer. Do you know of anyone who has a white say 7 spoke in a 16-17 thats not for racing and $400 a peice? Most of them are super light and pricey that I've found or slabs of steel that are cheap and heavy. Looking for the in-between
