Damn STi...
Alright, so here's my sad story of the week.
Yesterday, i was pulling into the parking lot to get my car washed. As i was pulling in, a nice Subaru WRX STi was pulling out. It has quite a bit of mods done to it, so of course i was checking it out. As i was staring at the car, i took the turn too sharp and drove my right rear tire over the curb. They weren't the rounded curbs either - it was one of those squared off ones that is about 6 inches high. I turn down my stereo and roll down the window and i can hear the hissing. I blew a hole in the side of my tire! OMG i was soooo pissed because i already had plans for last night. So i manage to pull to the end of the parking lot, out of everybody elses way. The stock rims for the car were in my buddy's storage unit, so i called him and had him bring them to me. My plan was to switch both rear tires so the car woulnd't lean from having a 17 on one side and a 14 on the other. So he gets there with the stock rims, and i tell him i can handle it from there, so he leaves. Well, the jack that was in the trunk SUCKED!! I got the right rear off the ground enough to take the flat tire off, and as soon as i pulled it off, a bolt on the jack bent. Now the jack is slowly twisting sideways as the car gets closer and closer to the ground. I made about 20 phone calls trying to get someone to bring me a jack. Finally about 45 minutes later, i found someone that brought me the jack from their car. By this time, my drum brake was only about 2 inches off the ground, so it was perfect timing. After she came with the jack, it only took me about 10 minutes to switch both back rims. I was definitely a livid person in that parking lot. I was cussing loud enough for people down the street to hear me. I just wasn't in a very good mood. Luckily I have lifetime insurance on those tires. I just have to take it in tomorrow and they have to special order the tires. They said it should only take about 3-4 days. So in a few days, i'll be lookin good again. Just in time for the track next weekend...

When i bought the rims and tires, they offered this plan for only $100 where they will replace your tires for free for as long as you own them, as long as you get your car serviced at their shop. It's a pretty cool deal. I just talked to the guys at the shop yesterday and they said the tire should be in wednesday. They're gonna mount and balance it, then they're supposed to give me a call. So i'll be lookin good again in a couple more days..
