Most of that crap was put into law because of imports, yes. but they're geared for EVERY automobile. Most of that stuff is a safety hazard (putting blue headlights in doesn't help, any red or blue up front may cause the person in front of you to think you are some sort of emergency vehicle)

Anything making the engine produce more power that makes it non-BAR legal shouldn't be on the road anyway. You're wasting your own money doing it and you're destroying the planet. (I'm all for going fast, but fast cars can still do it legally)

Everything there I agree with except the stereo one. "if heard at 50 feet" well you might be able to hear it in a warehouse or parking garage, but on the street it'd be faint enough from all the ambient sound that who cares besides that cop having a pissy day?

 

Civics are the last vehicles destroying the planet....trust me....

You've got bikes that are louder and cars that are modded way past what we do ( 50s &60s hot rods, muscle cars.....etc), and they don't need to be smogged. Some of those laws are needed but they're still geared towrd the import scene. [:@] damn cops.....

 

The only cars that don't have to follow current BAR and CARB mandates are carbed vehicles, which is why the older cars are still legal. Bikes are also not mandated under the same laws as cars are. A civic that wasn't legal in the first place with a turbo and no cat are breaking the law twice as much. Period.

Don't like it, move outta Cali. Thats about your only option. Indiana has no smog/emissions testing so I don't have to worry about it.

 

I have no prob at all with emission testing. My prob is a cop seeing a shiney muffler then wasting your time with the whole "moddified exhaust" ticket crap.

 

So don't buy shiney mufflers... or get something that looks close to stock. I dunno that'd be my solution.

 

Thats how it starts.....they tell you what to buy, where to go, how to dress......

In Cali, if your exhaust is louder than they're pre determined level, your exhaust is not legal. The thing is the cops wont tell you that they should check it before giving you the ticket.

 

heh if a cop tells me how to dress I'll laugh at him. but if you don't want the attention don't get teh shiney cherry bomb muffler. Get a nice low profile RS*R 2 1/4" catback with a bronze/dark tip.

 

and dont run that huge NOS bottle in the trunk![sm=lol.gif]
