Bugatti EB 110 Veyron: W16 engine (think 4 GSR engines in a W shape) making roughly 1000 atc. Claimed top speed of 250+ (never actualized), crappy transmission that can't hold the torque, and it will burn through a full 100 liter tank of fuel in about 17 minutes if you cane it.
No. Bugatti EB16.4. Two VW WR8 engines welded together. Quad turbo, 1001 metric hp, 922 ft. lbs torque. Car and Driver "actualized" 253 mph in a road test. I've been about this car since DAY ONE! But yeah, it does get 3 mpg at that speed so I can't contest the fuel gripe.

The amazing thing is SSC gets more horsepower out of a V8, just enough boost to launch a rocket into orbit.

Sorry. Like I said, it was off the top of my head, and I was thinking of it back when it was still a prototype (it WAS originally called the EB110). Oh, and I did forget about the turbos. So apparently they've managed to fix the clutch-melting and gear-eating problems as well. I still wouldn't trust one though. VW...[:'(]
