Default Family car suggestions?!

Hey guys,

Soon I'll have to be looking for a newer car that is more suited for a family. I'm wondering what cars you all think fit the bill.

Preferences:
Affordable - under 30k
Dependable - not a Neon
Sedan (4dr) - NOT AN S.U.V., VAN, or TRUCK!
Newer - 2001 and up
Any Make - doesn't have to be a Honda (BUT NO KIAs or HYUNDAIs!)
Fuel efficient!!! - I know I'll never get my 40+ mpg anymore but I can hope.

So, throw me some ideas!! THANKS!!

WRX STI

If you want a nice, calm family car, maybe an 8g civic sedan? Also, the new Camry's are pretty nice if you don't mind a granny-mobile.

2009 Mugen Civic Si... if they have it. Otherwise, the 2008 one.
Sporty, nice, and quick, yet suited for a family in both size and amount of doors.

Mazda 6 if you want some room, the 4 cylinder with the 5 speed is still pretty quick and under 30k.

Yeah, its too bad the new one only comes in sedan. I was (and still am) in love with teh previous Mazda 6, in the 5door sport with the V6 and Manual transmission. I sat in one at the North American International auto show when it first came out and said "I want this car".

Have not been in the new one yet but all the reviews say it is just as good.
