Family car suggestions?!

Yeah, its too bad the new one only comes in sedan. I was (and still am) in love with teh previous Mazda 6, in the 5door sport with the V6 and Manual transmission. I sat in one at the North American International auto show when it first came out and said "I want this car".
Have not been in the new one yet but all the reviews say it is just as good.

WRX Wagon. All the space and versatility you could ever need, in a fun little budget sports car. Lightly used 06-07's are going for under 20k, and have the 2.5l motor rather than the 2.0l. 04-05 is still a nice choice as well, just a bit less low end tq. They're cheaper, but harder to find with low miles.

Hey guys,
Soon I'll have to be looking for a newer car that is more suited for a family. I'm wondering what cars you all think fit the bill.
Preferences:
Affordable - under 30k
Dependable - not a Neon
Sedan (4dr) - NOT AN S.U.V., VAN, or TRUCK!
Newer - 2001 and up
Any Make - doesn't have to be a Honda (BUT NO KIAs or HYUNDAIs!)
Fuel efficient!!! - I know I'll never get my 40+ mpg anymore but I can hope.
So, throw me some ideas!! THANKS!!

Toyota Corolla fits your parameters too, and it doesn't have an interference engine like the Hondas.

s2000, just mod the truck to fit two more seats
Why not a 8th gen 4dr civic. Si model of course. Do not think about the Mugen. It's flat out ugly and overpriced, not to mention it's the only car I've seen where the first thing I thought was "oversized mouse".
05 C Class AMG Mercedes for $30k....on ebay
Newer BMW 5 series for $30k....on ebay
Newer Dodge Charger for under $30k
Acura TL...Type S
all with 25k miles or less
and I would say everything else is just ok
