Forza or Gran Turismo?
So $599 PS3 is your choice plus $30 tax and a $70 game (cant play w/o game can u?)---->$700
you were talking about the price of the system itself and you know it, so STFU and eat crow. lol
and if your not going to talk about it dropping in price, why did you mention it? its going to NEED to drop in price to compete with the PS3.

Why would I talk about the price? I paid 650 dollars for my 360 package (controllers and games) and that's f ing expensive already. If you have money and want to own a PS3? go a head. I know they're not gonna sell 100 millions console w that price and I'll rather have 2 for a price of one. I hope they dont drop the price cuz I still want to see Sony on the market
i have to say.. the idea of bluray really attracts me. it carries 25-30 gigs of info...vs the 8 or so the xbox 360 games carry. that leaves room for insanely awesome games tho. the one thing i want to know though...is how are they effectively going to process that much information fast enough to make it a decent gaming system? they have a single core processor running at 3.2ghz...now that is some computing power....but its not even thinking about touching the tricore 3.2ghz processor that microsoft has in the 360. the GPU in the ps3 is faster than the xbox 360s only by 50mhz....but overall the xbox 360 blows the ps3 out of the water in computing power. this means stronger games, faster games, and just a more fun system when it boils down to numbers. its the add ons that are going to be keeping the ps3 above water. i like the fact that you can have up to 7 controllers connected through bluetooth...that'll be sweet. the fact that theyre using USBs for the controllers kinda confuses me...but i suppose it'll be effective...they can have up to 6 more plugged into the system and create a LAN without having to use sony specific things is neat...but in the end the 360 is going to be an overall better system.
that doenst mean i wont have both in the end tho...it just means i wont instantly lunge for the ps3 when it comes out.

It's not single core, it's 9 cores but designed for video processing (blue ray) more than gaming. Sony is doing what they've done w betamax, atrac, umd... create their own format. They've spent billons in blueray and will lose more than that if blue ray fails. That's why they add blue ray in PS3 (not because they want give u more GBs) and force customers to buy it. Look what happens w UMDs, studio is reducing their movies for it. So if you support blue ray, go right ahead. Im not supporting anybody, I rarely use half the space on DVD.
Edit: 7 controllers on one screen? must have a 103 inch TV to see that. They promised 2 HDMI and 2 TVs support but now 1 is only on the more expensive system.

um...sorry...theres no such thing as a 9 core processor...but thanks for playing.

SUMMARY
Now that the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 specifications have been announced, it is possible to do a real world performance comparison of the two systems.
There are three critical performance aspects of a console:
Central Processing Unit (CPU) performance.
The Xbox 360 CPU architecture has three times the general purpose processing power of the Cell.
Graphics Processing Unit (GPU) performance
The Xbox 360 GPU design is more flexible and it has more processing power than the PS3 GPU.
Memory System Bandwidth
The memory system bandwidth in Xbox 360 exceeds the PS3's by five times.
The Xbox 360's CPU has more general purpose processing power because it has three general purpose cores, and Cell has just one.
Cell's claimed advantage is on streaming floating point work which is done on its seven DSP processors.
The Xbox 360 GPU has more processing power than the PS3's. In addition, its innovated features contribute to overall rendering performance.
Xbox 360 has 278.4 GB/s of memory system bandwidth. The PS3 has less than one-fifth of Xbox 360's (48 GB/s) of total memory system bandwidth.

It got 8 SPEs and 1 PPE

PS3 Power: Details on Cell
We unveil the hard specs behind the upcoming PS3 processor.
by Chris Roper
February 7, 2005 - Sony Computer Entertainment, IBM, and Toshiba held a press conference in downtown San Francisco this morning to unveil more details on their collaborative Cell processor. While there are still a few details and bits of information that the three companies are keeping mum about for the moment, they did reveal and confirm plenty of specs that had been only rumors and guesses for some time now.
For those of you who like reading numbers more than words, here are some raw specs (which we'll discuss below):
# Each Cell processor contains 8 Synergistic Processing Units and a single 64-bit Power Architecture Unit (All are RISC designs with SIMD)
# Operates at >4GHz and capable of >256GFLOPS
# 256KB Local Storage per SPU and 512KB L2 Cache (2.5MB total)
# 128+ concurrent transactions to memory per processor
# High-speed internal element interconnect performing at 96B/cycle
# 234 million transistors
# Prototype die size of 221mm^2
# Fabricated with 90nm SOI process technology

...if that makes any sense.[&:]
I like them both. They have the coolest graphics and all. But If I had to choose it would be forza because u do not have to test for licences. U just needto bulid up enough $$$ to get to the next level.

I just found this video, not very new but I dont want to start a new thread so here go
