Default had a goofy idea.

i always thought this would be cool.

what if an auto company... lets just say honda. kept all there past models in production?

not following?

lets just say a 1990 hatch. it was made cheap and it was verry affordable. people still love it. why not keep producing it just the way it was?

old navy has a vintage section. why not honda?

Its more expensive to manufacture automobiles than it is to make T-Shirts. Also, who is gonna buy a car from 1990? Nobody is gonna buy something from 1990 if they can get a car for the same price with more and better options and better gas milage.

I see what you mean though. I somewhat agree with you. Some cars like the old mustangs, camaros, firebirds and stuff like that would be great to have around more often. The fact is though, then they wouldn't be worth nearly what they are today, in essence, making them worthless.

If everyone had a 1990 civic, why would you want one, regardless of how good they are? zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz[&o]

I'm in a dream world some times too. Here is my goofy idea. I was thinking that i could take the motor out of my civic (D15B7) and build a go-kart around it. A couple things, i need a GSR motor so i can swap the D15B7 out. I need a MIG welder so i can build the fram and other stuff. Stuff like the suspension, axles, steering, brakes will all have to be custom made.

A civic is pretty close to a go kart, but i wanna get closter. Instead of having a 2400lbs car, i wanna get it down do like 1000lbs. I dunno how much the motor weighs, but i figure the frame with all the stuff would be like 300-400lbs. <---Blind guess.

I'm already thinking about how i could make it. I think the frame will cost like $500 to build. Its gonna be $80.00 for 24ft of 2x2in square tubing. I think ill need like 30ft. I think ill have to run a solid axle, not a CV axle. The suspension is puzzling me, ill have to discuss it with my teacher tommorow.
