I was just reading the post over in Gereral Civic talk; 2001 civic - gas tank size??; and it made me remember of the one time with my '94 Beretta that I ran out of gas just as I pulled up in front of my house. Well,I didn't realize I was that low until I went to start it the next morning and nothing. So needless to say, I walked down to the gas station 3 blocks away with a container and thanhad to drive back to the gas station to finish filling up. Just wondered how many times you guys tried pushing your gas tanks limits.

 

I've never completely run my tank dry. I've had it low enough that it had a hard time starting many, many times, though. Luckily for me, there's three gas stations in the town of 2,000 people where I live.

Edit: correction.. there's four gas stations, all just a few blocks from my house

 

I remember one time, I was driving home and had like a 120km trip, i figured i had enough gas, and had about 60km's to go and the gas light came on, i thought "oh god" . and i swore i was gonna run out.. but then i made it lol

 

Isn't that a great feeling when you just make it home!!!

 

Lol well that car at the time, the light came on all the time if you had below 1/4 tank and accelerated or went up a hill. lol

 

were in my friends old saturn on night and it ran out gas on the highway. so we had to push it across a couple lanes on the road and walk to nearest gas station. it's something that i will never forget. and it's made me get gas just make sure that i won't run out.

 

ive only run out once and i was washing my car on the lawn as it was idling(listening to music) and then it just died and wouldnt start back up. i have a 2 gas stations less than a block away

 

well, i was driving home from school one day... it was a crappy day outside, snow, slush etc. i was driving a 89 ford tempo at the time.. and my gas gauge didnt work. So i was on a main road driving home when my car started to hesitate.. i was at a red light, so when it turned green, i gunned it and when i got to about 40-50km/h the car died... well, since i was up to speed i just coasted the thing into a gas station haha i hadda push it a foot or 2, but thats it . im glad i didnt have to push my piece of **** in that sorta weather...

 

oh yeah i ran out the other day in my truck on the freeway, lol. i just got it and didnt realize i had 2 tanks so i just switched it over started that puppy up and drove on home, lmao

 

Does anybody else drive downhill a lot when they're low on gas to make the guage read higher?

Or maybe I'm the only one
