How often to change coil packs?

I have coils on my sunfire that frankly I'm not used to. When I had my explorer it was a sinch to change plugs and wires but I don't understand much about coils. How often do you have to replace them if ever?

i wouldnt change the unless they go bad ----ive seen them go bad on cars with 40-50k on them ---& then theres cars out there with 300k on them & they have never been replaced---
