I hit a huge pothole the other day going to my brother's house. It bent the inside lips of both my passenger side wheels! It sounded like I hit a tree! Now I have vibration and rumble over 40mph. I'm calling the city about it and let them know. If they pay for the repairs... cool, if not... they still have been warned about this hazard. My brother has a van with OEM wheels and he complained about it, so it is not just a hazard for lowered cars or low profile tires. Anyway it's going cost me $180 to have them fixed, mounted and re-balanced. Not too bad, but not exactly where I wanted to spend 180 bucks... End of rant...

I bent a rim and blew a tire on a pothole, I wrote a nasty professional letter about it.......their responce....."Thank you for bring that pothole to our attention, we will be sure to fix it".........but they dont buy me a new rim or tire. ******.

 

The state should pay for it... it is their responsibility for crying out loud and your taxes pay for the stupid pot hole! Sometimes I think the states are crazy.

 

^^ That's what really ticks me off. Oklahoma has some of the highest state taxes, I mean we get taxed on everything, plus we have toll gates everywhere there's a shortcut, but we have some of the worst roads in the United States. My father in law works for the city and he told me some guy to call and talk to that is responsible for road conditions. I'm not expecting much, probably along the lines of what Pete explained, but I'll let you guys know how it turns out.

 

wow that sucks!..i have hit same crazy pot holes as well, makes me mad that we pay so much tax and they cant fix some dam roads. But i bet you will get a stupied response like that^^..i wonder if you talked to a lawyer what they would say about it

 

It is not the states responsability to replace a high priced aftermarket rim. Sorry that is what you will be told, that and "if you were more observant you would not have hit the pothole"
