thats not bad.. i've seen better from trucks. if he had a bed cover it'd solve any drag problems resulting from the tailgate... a tweaked up lightning could probably do better... but good find anyways

 

You Car&Driver readers should read up on the Ram SRT10 that this guy John Hennessey's company beefed up. Twin turbo with a new tranny and the thing runs 12s with a 0-60 at 4.4 sec. Oh yeah, my bad, forgot to mention it weighs an un-Godly 5500 lbs!

Actually (and I know this will shock you and you won't believe me), that's not true. The UW just did a wind tunnel study a little while ago, and the way the air currents flow off the back of the roof, removing the tailgate actually creates MORE drag. When the gate is on, it creates a circular swirling cushion of air in the bed, which effectively streamlines the back of the truck, so any newly-introduced air flows cleanly over the top of the bed and the tailgate.
