New block and internals. I'm going all out this time. Hopefully this will be bulletproof when I'm done. I'm going to drop the compression, probably to about 9:1 and run around 20 psi, give or take. Hopefully, I will have all this done by the end of summer. I haven't been getting many hours lately, but that's about to change. And you don't have to wait at all for some kill stories. I actually killed a V6 Firebird the other day with the D17. It was pretty sad. I'll have it up and running at full strenght ASAP.

 

Hey se7ensectoolate, I'm just curious (and wanna learn), exactly what does lowering your compression do? I guess I actually mean why drop it?

 

you can run more boost. it lowers the final compression ratio, so you can get more air in, at higher pressure, and not detonate.

how did you go to race him? i thought the cam like shot through the block and al the valves were bent or some craziness? did you have a spare block around to get it back and running again until you buy a new one or what?

 

I have my D17 back in the car for now. I just went mainly to see if it existed, and they never showed up. And a rod shot through the oil pan, not too much crazyness.

 

what is your car capable of right now? he didnt show when you were there, but no one saw you there, and people saw him there??

i would have found a way to prove you were there...but i wouldnt have gone back...on the other hand, i would just make plans for him to meet me at the track....when i was in college i used to put a business card that i had made on really hardcore looking cars that read

"COME GET YOUR A$$ KICKED, THIS THURSDAY AT PITTSBURGH RACEWAY PARK, GATES OPEN AT 5PM, LEAVE THIS CARD ON YOUR DASHBOARD, ILL FIND YOU"

basically anything with a roll cage and DOTs, with numbers on the car, or anything that had more gauges then cylinders, got the card ...i also handed a few in jest to a couple guys with Mustang GTs during conversation, and i think of the 30 or so i put on windshields, 3 showed up and left it on the dash...the guys i handed them to in person almost always showed up...and two of my neighbors in college who didnt believe that i had a mid 12 second car showed up...one had an old celica with a roll cage, he turned low 14s...the other showed up in his daddy's ferrari...not his lowered altima, and he whooped me...

7 i say dont worry about them...let them hate ALL they want, and enjoy your ride..and your freedom...dont let them draw you into something that is gonna get your butt slung in jail...take him to the track.

Slow@SlowerMPH. Sadly on the D17, the best I've cranked out is 16.69@84. Yeah, I probably will just take it to the track. Good idea with the cards, I never thought of that. Funny thing is that this El Camino broke it's rear end this weekend, so it'll be out of commission for awhile. Makes me wonder if it exists.

 

he was probably a moron who put a big V8 with a factory 10 bolt chevy rear, which might hold some power for a while, but its only a matter of time before it blows...good for him.
