ok well im 16 and turning 17 in july. and today i was at a light that merges. and the lady infront of me started to go and i thoguht she took off already. so i looked at cars coming so i can leave. and turns out she didnt leave and i sort of scraped her car. my front right end scraped her back left rear end. do you think my insurance will go up? my friend said that it wont and that the insurance will just give her money to fix and paint it..

 

if its just a little scratch it shouldn't really matter. You could use some touch up paint.

Your insurance will only go up if a report was filed. Were the cops called, or insurance companies called? If a report was filed with your insurance company, it probably will go up. Whether alot or a little, depends on insurance company and plan.
Accidents at 16/17 suck. I got into one, where I was completely at fault. Insurance more than doubled.....not fun stuff

If it is a small scratch then I would work out something with the owner. You insurance will go up and stay up for a couple years.

It depends, a lot of insurance companies will cut you a break on the first incident... especially allstate

 

Word. Alstate cut me a break...when I was 16 I ran into the back of a Mustang at 40 mph, totalling both cars. Completly my fault, my insurance actually went DOWN lol.

 

How is that even possible? You totaled two cars and it was claimed at your fault? Yet your insurance went down....Lol
