Arghh .. I think I screwed up my tire size BIG TIME
Newbie to the forums, but would appreciate people's HONEST input on this. I think I screwed up big time.
I just swapped my bridgestone 195/60/15 tires on my 2005 civic coupe with 205/65/15 tires. Yeah I know, but misinterpreted what the middle number referred to (% of tire width). So, after first running it by my local Honda dealter (who said its OK minus the speedometer error), and having a local tire store mount them, even though they are obviously quite big, I am stuck with them, because they were a "special order" tire, and cannot be returned, etc. Would have been nice to have this explained first though!
So I guess my question is, they look a little odd (big), but are there any detrimental effects of running a tire this large?? My civic is a manual transmission. Anybody know anyone who is running 205/65/15 tires on their civic??? Would ease my worries if there were others out there, and the effects were positive??
Thanks.

No they are now on my car. I just bought them today, and am stuck with them.
Anything I should know about. Sure would ease my concerns if other people have run this size before??

tire size alone can not damage your car, period. like hesaid ^^^^^ no rubbing? your good. just call them your winter ground clearance tires.... pick up the cheapest rubber you can find, mount them, ebay as suggested, take that money and this time order the correct tire.. dont worry though, everybody gets their "experience", if you know what i mean....
