insurance question?
project car like not moving... just sitting on your back yard??i live in cali andmy car registration is on "freeze" or hold cause its stored at my moms house. so when u go to dmv just tell em that u will like to freeze ur registration cause u aint using it.
Call your insurance company and tell them you wont be driving the car for a few months, and it will be locked in your garage...
...Idinsure it for fire or accidental or something (unless the car is really worth nothing at all) and see what they say...then I think you tell the DMV or something...I went though this when I bought my Civic; the previous owner didnt drive it for a long time and it wasnt insured, had no plates, etc...

well not sure about how legal in your state but i dont see itbeing a problem.... im not even gonna buy plates for my 66impala cause i dont drive it much if any but i do have full coverage insurance on it but im forced to for some super gay reason with it having a HISTORICAL liscence plate.... but its still preaty cheap.
BUT legal or not i would at least pay STORAGE INSURANCE.... that way if someone breaks into your ride when its outside your covered same as if a tree falls on it your covered.... or say your garage has a fire and burns your car up your still covered for your car at least....

It depends on the laws where you live, but it's genrally not illegal to have an unregistered or uninsured car, as long as it's never on the road. You may also be required to insure a vehicle if you still owe money on it.
If it won't be on the road at all, I'd see about cancelling registration and just carrying enough insurance to cover theft/vandalism/freak incidents.
