my old dodge truck has 190 thousand on it, and the bimmer has 202 thousand...the bimmer has needed a new gearbox, but it hadnt been taken care of before me

 

your emphasis should be on "old" Old american cars were built like tanks for the most part

 

good point..one of my friends made the error of getting a sunfire...at one point, he got so disgusted with it, he stopped getting things fixed...when he turned it back in, it only had 1st, 2nd and reverse...the sunroof hadnt closed in weeks, the power windows didnt work...the list goes on...

 

GM is crumbling because of the stupidity of their management, and because their cars are POS
domestics are highly unreliable, therefore i will never buy one

Ive owned 4 4th gen fbodies and I didnt have one major problem w/ any of them, thats including alot of trips down the 1/4 mile...stop talkin outta your *** if you really dont know what your talkin about..stick w/ your old ragged out gay bimmer

heh. Well, what I hate most about these guys is that they just bash every non-american car without any reasonable knowledge on the subject. Domestics are fine by me, but today, it's really hard to find any new US car worth buying. Old american muscle cars get major respect from me, but this new stuff that they have put out can not be compared. Japanese cars on the other hand are becomming better every year. I myself have a '92 corolla with 190k miles and it still has all of the original equipment from the factory (never had to change a thing, except for the exhaust). Honestly, I'm yet to see a newer Gm or Ford vehicle reaching that kind of mileage at all.

Mr cluelessricers would probably say "wa waaaa waaaa, those jap are taking our jobs." He should really be pissed at american car makers that let that happen. C'mon, if GM or ford built a better quality cars, then why would americans turn to japanese cars instead? Why is toyota camry a #1 selling car in America?

 

oh and one more thing, why do some american cars use jap motors? No foreign maufacturers do that, because they have their own technology
