itunes music downloads,anyone have it?
well, you have to know how to use the software, and even know how to use a computer, if you're not that great at computers, then something is bound to go wrong. i know a lot about computers and never had a problem with itunes on a pc nor a mac.
I have a great connection. Its just that the company im with does not let people download from peer to peer networks. And I cant switch since its the only high-speed around here.
I guess Ill try to see what other music download web sitesI can pick up cards for. I dont have a ipod right now.

itunes works fine. music is .99 a song and around 9.99 for an album. its not .99 X how many songs. These amounts are legit and are worth it to make sure you have a quality eq and recording of a song. it is designed however to only be used on one computer so you cannnot transfer those bought songs to other computers thru ipod or whatever. this is to police the whole bootleg music thing.
i would sugest that if you dont have an ipod or do not want to pay for the music. use limewire.
ps. also.. with itunes you can purches new movies (only $10) and tv episodes ( different amounts) which is nice. and now with appleTV, you can see all that on your tv or whatever via wireless without running some kind of dvi cable.
but even then its hard to beat torrenting. however again. you can never be sure of quality when it comes to torrents

ok, to clear up some of the false statements, and correct in general:
iTunes:
Single Song: $0.99 + applicable taxes
Album: $9.99-15.99 + applicable taxes
Movie: $9.99-14.99 + applicable taxes
TV Shows: $1.99-5.99 + applicable taxes /episode
TV Show Season: $cost varies
iPod Games: $4.99 + applicable taxes
Music format: Protected AAC (Apple Audio Codec) 128kbps (equivalent to 192kbps mp3)
File extension: *.m4p
Number of allowed authorized computers per account: 5
Number of allowed times to download: 1
note there is exceptions when loss of music occurs due to hard drive failure or system failure, but it requires a call to apple support and a lot of red tape
The protected AAC codec will not play in WMP, Winamp, or pretty much any other Windows based media player. There are a few codec packs out there that do have an equivalent that will allow you to play them, so you can hunt around. Most portable players will not play the files either, though they do work flawlessly on iPods.
As for the cases of iTunes deleteing people's music, I think what is found through Apple's support normally is that people did not pay attention while blindly clicking ok when installing. There's two questions that are asked during the install process: "Search for all music & media files on this computer", "Keep iTunes music folder organized". Effectively what this will do, is by default move music from where ever it is, to the Music/iTunes/iTunes Music folder into a Artist/Album/ song.mp3 tree directory. So people go to find their music in it's old location, only to discover it's no longer there. The music does however end up in the above mentioned folder.
I found iTunes is quite possibly the best player for keeping a large, organized music library. With my 10,6xx songs, it has no trouble keeping everything organized, easy to look through, and even easier to play. There has been some issues with the swapping of iTunes to Windows, but most bugs have been ironed out.
I've used iTunes since it was released for Windows, and now that I don't own a Windows based PC, use iTunes exclusively on my MacBook Pro.
As it was mentioned above, it is definitely worth while to purchase individual songs in lieu of buying whole cd's of crap. New songs are released every Tuesday, and a lot of bands are now Pre-Releasing singles or entire albums on iTunes, days, weeks, and in some cases a month in advance of hard copy releases. There's also a large amount of iTunes exclusive music that is released on a regular basis, stuff that can't be found elsewhere.
It's also a nice peace of mind to know RIAA won't be knocking on your door anytime soon due to illegal music downloading etc.
