ok yes for basic usage like ripping cds and burning, yes itunes is a very good program. and other then for my ipod i only use it to rip cd's. but for burning i prefer using Nero cause it actually puts on the ID3 tags. where as itunes only does it with purchased music

Since I have all the iTunes/iPod people handy, can anyone tell me how to make my iPod stop disconnecting from my computer? I plug it in, it whirrs up and shows up in My Computer (I'm on XP Pro), but it kicks itself off within ten seconds. I have some files on there that I need to get to and it disconnects in the middle of the transer. I got it Saturday, and it's been working fine and synching with my iTunes just fine since then. It's a 30gig with video.

I was having this problem on a G5 with OSX today too, but throwing files at it kept it connected.
