**** ive got 2 bad knees being in the military they really didnt start to hurt untill I went to the desert in Dec. 2004. every since then the docs (that graduated at the bottom of there class had to join the military.) say that I have patela tendernidous and there is nothing they can do about it except for me to strech and do rotations to relive the pain. I really dont want to have any pain. Its really draging me down cant run like I use to back in the day. So I will be the test dummy and not get the surgey. I have to wait till I goto my school in June to go see a doctor again.

well i dont know anything about knee replacement...but this older guy whos the dad of a guy i backpack with...he had both his hips replaced last year. hes a big bowler. before his hips got bad he was consistantly bowling 180s, then after they got bad he dropped to 135-140, then when he got them replaced he was shooting 200s easy. if knee replacement is anything like that its worth it.

same her, except they call it "patella-femoral syndrome" which translates into "pain under the kneecap." yeah, brilliant diagnosis'.
"your knee hurts?"
"Yeah."
"its Patella-femoral syndrome"
"whats that?"
"pain of the knee."

thanks.[:@] hopefuly the stretches and exercises work, otherwise Ill be in for surgery in the next few years.

That's no fun I tore my plica in June of 2002 and remember how bad it was when my knee was locking and cramping. Now I just have chondromalacia and the doc says the treatement is cortizone shots (he** no!).

[sm=signs003.gif]I finally got some sleep last night. mines feeling a lot better today, but I have to be SOOO careful with it now for a few more days, then Im going to start hitting the bicycle to strengthen my legs as much as I can to see if it helps.
