I agree. Start young, go to school if you can and don't settle with dead end jobs. Easier said than done, but it's possible, just gotta have your priorities and head on straight. I was told if I wanted to go to college I had to pay my own way thru =( So unfortunately I didn't go. Ended up havin a kid at 21. Which I wouldn't change for the world! But I've had my hard times w/money. Raised the little boy by myself since day 1. And had no babysitters to help me to go back to school. So I took it upon myself to learn. Taught myself all I needed to know about accounting, and did that for2 years.. Now I've switched gears and added marketing, website management, and sales to that. Now I'm doing all that in this new job. So it is possible to be successful without a degree, just gotta have the drive to make the opportunities possible. It may suck to work like ya do, but the benefits out weigh the difficulties. Unfortunatly this world is based on money... and a lot of people are happy with just gettin by. On another note.. Escort? LOL.. NEVER. Ilive in a hicktown...my clients would consist of toothless farmers in overhauls! ewwwww!. hahahahahha!

A couple of comments, Jen. First, congrats on pulling it together and not feeling sorry for yourself. Some would have thrown their hands in the air and wound up as a burden to society on welfare.

There is another addage, it takes money to make money. Invest in yourself and you will reap the benefits. Peeps today dont want to go to college unless someone else pays. Sometimes that doesn't happen and the responsibility is up to you. Everyone can go to college , everyone. Even a course at a time or taking advantage of tuition reimbursement at the job. The online schools are great! I went back to school , as an old geezer, away from the books for over 25 years and I got a BSIT from UOP online. Company paid the entire cost. All the courses are done at YOUR schedule for 5 weeks at a time. Log in whenever you want to do your work 24/7 . Does it take work? no doubt! I cant type for **** so it was extra hard for me. It can be done , if YOU want it badly enough.

Just my slant... Go for it! You'll be even more successful than you are or will be.

I have a scholarship that pays half of my tuitionand living expensive, the other half I just work my *** during the summer and get school loans. So far i'm 30,000 in debt in school loans.I have one more year before I graduate, so my total debt will be around 40,000.

But i plan ongoing to medical school after I graduate, therefore i'mprobably going to haveto take a 100,000 loan to pay for those years. But in the end it doesn't really matter since if everything goes well with my education I should be making 6 figures a year
