Massive HCF get together...
pat is right. cutting through canada is a lot shorter than going through the states. my mom and sisters went to rochester to visit friends this past summer. they left at 7 in the morning and called to tell us they were there at two to let us know she was there. and thats including the trip from here to the border of canada (about three hours from here...2.5 to get to detroit and a half hour to get through) and inspections. but on the way back they did a random search of the car which took like an hour they said. apparently like every hundreth car or something that crosses the border they do an inspection. or something like that.

If i may interject, i lived in pittsburgh last year when the autoshow happened, and my current GF lives here in detroit. pittsburgh has a decent autoshow, but it is nothing compared to NAIAS. It really is awesome. Before I moved here, a friend of mine in pittsburgh told me, as he goes every year, you have to go at least once, and honestly, i cant wait. It took me about 5 hours in the hard snow in a RWD rental car to get here, but it was well worth it. I dont live far away now, and ill just end with this, if you live close enough that you can drive to it, do so...

NAIAS is awesome...the italian cars are actually fenced off, but my girlfriend batted her eyelashes and the dork at the lambo area let her in for some pictures...
DCA, i dont live in pittsburgh anymore, but where do you live?

Alright so it looks like there is some interest in this. We'll never actually get anything organized at this rate though.
Here's what the schedule (I'm thinkin) would look like:
Jan. 13 or 20 Friday - Travel Day
Friday Night - take over a bar somewhere
Jan. 14 or 21 Saturday - Show Day
Saturday Night - Take over another bar
Jan. 15 or 22 Sunday - Travel Day
^For people who have to travel. Other people can get there saturday, leave saturday, whatever.
The show opens at 9am and closes at 10pm. Tickets are $12. If we can get 25 people to go they're only $8.
So here's the deal, if you're actually interested in going to the Detroit Auto Show (NAIAS) send me a PM with the following:
1) Name (first only for privacy freaks) and HCF member name
2) location, just city and state
3) if you would be willing to travel with other (HCF) people.
4) which weekend would you want to go, if you have a preference
I'll put together a map of people going and you all can work out meeting points and car pools and things like that on your own.
