Maybe after freight youre at 2200?...but retail prices are above...you can try to look for a left over 06 or 07 for even a bit less.

 

i think a civic is pretty gas friendly even for short drives, i drive to and from work wihch is only like 2 miles, and a full tank of gas lasts me a long time , maybe its time fora tune-up or something in that range, if u really wanna save then jus get a bicycle

 

I have new plugs, cold air intake (clean filter at least once a year) and new plugs. Oil is changed every 3,000 or 3 months whatever comes first. Tranny fluid has been changed along with anti freeze.

It's not only about saving gas, it's also the fact of it being hard on a car driving short distances. Most newer oil filters have a check valve, but many of the older ones didn't, so the engine was starting without oil in the filter. By the time I start my car and get to work the oil hasn't even warmed up yet. This brings alot of parts not being lubricated.

There are things I would like to do to my car, but it's my own transportation so I can't do alot of those things. True I could just ride my pedal bike to work, but like I stated before I bust my *** at work. I work in a retail store in which I spend most of my summer outside loading mulch, patio blocks, lawn furniture, furniture. I am talking 300-500 customers per day, by the time I punch out I am lucky to make it to my car, let alone pedal a bike home. Plus alot of 12 hour days in the summer with the 90 degree heat.

 

Small motorcycles are even cheaper than many scooters, and more capable than mopeds. A small moto, the KLR650 is not. However, Kawi also made a KLR Jr. in a 250cc size. A good 250cc moto will get you up to highway speeds, but itwouldn't reallybe ideal for bombing long stretches of interstate. The 250 Ninja was a good suggestion. It's a multi-cylinder engine that will move you pretty good while not weighinga lot or sucking much gas. Some people get over 100MPG with 200-250cc bikes.

I like dual-sport bikes for multi-use, but there are also several small cruisers and sportbikes around.
