Need for Speed Underground is definately the bench mark! I love it! As for car chases and movies? Hmmmm. There is an old school Charlie Sheen movie called the Wraith, which is so eighties but the car is guaranteed to give you a religious experience! As for car CHASES, you would be hard pressed to beat the one in Ronin.

anybody ever seen that movie "driven" with sylvester stalone, that formula 1 race through busy streets was nice.

 

Car game = GT3

Car race = "What are running under that hood?"
"More than you can afford, Ferrari."
"Smoke him."
..................dialogue makes the race GREAT!

Car chase = any one you choose from Mad Max, probably the opener though.

 

Transporter 3 racing scene owns EVERYTHING!

as far as games i'd also say GT4
