My first mod... EVAH!
Ok, it's nothing big, like suspension, or even anything preformance, like CAI. But it was my first go at doing something to my car that entailed more than taking off the gas cap and inserting the pump, or changing the oil.
So here it is:
My gauge cluster was boring. I'm not a big fan of boring. I was like this: [:'(]
So I found a DIY to change the color of the lights! Then I was like this:
And after taking apart my dash twice (I didn't like the color the first time, I decided to repaint the bulbs) my cluster now looks like this! I am so happy, and I'm like this!
It's just a little thing, and I'm probably the only person who will ever get a kick out of it. But I think it's pretty neat anyway.
I can't decide what to work on next. She has some minor dings and dents from the previous owner, so I think I'll get an estimate and get those out before I do anything else. After that... suspension? Intake/headers/exhaust? Or perhaps.... pink calipers? Hmmmm.....
Anyway, I'm pretty happy right now, and just wanted to share.

and like they said, that is a pain in the butt mod...thats why i havent done it..i just turn my dash lights off, and i have blue LEDs that light up my gauges because i dont want to deal with taking my dash apart!

i looks real nice, what color paint did you use on the bulbs.

And come on guys, it's really not that hard. Took me like 25-30 minutes the first time, now I could easly take it all apart in under 10. CAI, or really, any engine stuff has GOT to be more difficult than this.
Acutally, that leads me to a different question. How much engine work requires physical stregnth? Cause I'm really small (like 98lbs soaking wet) and not very strong. How will this limit me?
(And Patrick, I'll do your lights for ya for 5 bucks and a dinner at Dennys. [8D])

I guess you'll just have to tell me the process of powder coating so I can do it myself

how old are you lbh?
how old are you lbh?
The minor stuff you really don't need much strenght for...an intake is really nothing more than removing a few plastic parts and putting a shiney tube in their place....which is probably aluminum and weighs nothing...and most engine work is about precision, not strength
