yeah.
i got it a few days ago.

i did a cali stop at an empty intersection.
turns out there was a cop in the bar parking lot that was caddy corner to me.
he pulled me over, gave me a 5 minute lecture, then wrote me a ticket.
a**hole...

i was gonna fight it, but i decided i'm going to plead no contest and take traffic school....
anyone know about how much the ticket will run me?

 

I dunno man.
I got my first ticket in February for speeding.
I just got a lawyer to take care of it.
I had to pay a $200 fine because I was going 17 over.
But yea,
I learned my lesson.

Do whatever you can do so that you don't get points taken off your drivers license...
and you definitely don't want your insurance to go up.

 

i got a speeding ticket in jan for going 14 over and just went to an "experience reality" course that Fresno made me do to get rid of the fine and no points on my licence but thats only cause im under 18 but if i didnt go it would be like 240 i think

a friend of mine went down a one way street the wrong way and her ticket was 580...it really depends on what you did....which i dont really know what a cali stop is...........so...uh....

Thats why u gotta have a parent as a cop... my mom is a cop and she got my ticket dismissed going 18 over.

 

if they let you enter traffic school the points will not go against you and you should not have to pay for anything other than court cost, atleast that is how it is around here.

 

A lot has to do with your attitude during the stop. You said the cop was sitting close to a bar, chances are he was just looking for drunks. What did you say to him when he pulled you over. Most cops won't write for little infractions such as that (some do though), they are just pulling cars over for little things so that they have probable cause to see if the driver of the vehicle is intoxicated or not. When you try and back talk or give the cop a hard time, you end up getting screwed.

 

well i know in fresno i didn't have a court fee except for the $2.50 cents i paid for parking and the 20 dollars i had to pay for the traffic school i went to. The cop wasn't at the court i went to since im a minor and it was just one guy talking with me asking what my grades were and why i was speeding.

 

A "cali stop" is short for "California stop" and it's just a rolling stop, where you don't stop all the way just slow down a bit and then keep going. I guess it's a common thing in California? i dunno... I just know people call it that.

 

^ lucky... I'm 17 and the cop that pulled me over was at my careless driving court appeal... I ended up getting the full fine along with the $6 court fee

Here in PA, the standard traffic ticket is $107.50, but if you're doing something really stupid, it'll probably be higher. I can't imagine the fine for a rolling stop being that high, though

 

...I was caught racing doing 90 in a 50... and, yea... the ticket wasnt pretty... haha
in my area, speeding tickets dont get points off the lisence

...but the ticket cost me almost 200$... im just glad i didnt get a racing ticket... but that was a year and a half ago, and i know better now
