cool fishies. i've got a tank just slightly bigger at my house with all little fish. my gf though has a tank literally big enough to swim in at her house. it's about 5 feet tall and saltwater with a coral reef and puffer and nemo fish and whatnot. pretty cool, but i wouldn't want to pay for it/ take care of it

FISHES!!! Haha, congrats on the aquarium. A buddy of mine had a huge one he used as a splitter between his living room and dining room, and you're right, girls LOVE that stuff.

NOOOOOOO!!!!!!!

[sm=boohoo.gif] I had an outage last night and HALF of them died! All the little neon (red and blue) tetra fish, the suckers, 2 black strip tetras and both odessas DIED!

Amazingly, the angelfish is still alive. I had to hold it and move it through my emergency frying pot tank to get him going again. When the pwoer came back on I immediatly scooped the living fish out and through them in the frying pot which is now sitting on top pf my toilet until I get off work today. I moved them because the ammonia level was really bad in the big tank.

O well, at least some are still alive. Of course the f'n goldfish are ALL alive... lol

no no... he had them in some bowl until I go tthe tank. The fish are still in the pot that I have. I have flushed all the water out of the tank and have it sitting in the tub which I will just continously run hot water through for about an hour. Then Ill start the tank back up.

im using a pro aquatics remote canister type filter foy my tank......allows you to use different media in the filter system. may want too look into a filter system like it. the carbon media i use also helps with keeping amonia levels down.

Ammonia is badass. Thats why some corals are nice to have (sltwater tank mind you), because some corals filter out ammonia. If youre going to keep any amount of fish in a small tank, youre going to want to get some type of filter. Even just the poo can create harmful amounts of ammonia. Good move though on at least getting the living fish out.
