i was over excited to get my civic the other day... did a thurough check of everything before i bought it..she even drove nice on the test drive...then something happened on the way home it just hated me... ive managed to start doing alot of work to it..but i need alot more dun....theres some things on the civic i dont know whats best for it...

things ive replaced: Spark plugs and wires, thermostat, muffler( the one that was on it happened to just...fall ...off after i started on my way home... imagine that...), new antifreeze... more tranny fluid(still didnt stop the slipping)
things yet to go on: Radio in to it..cause he gave me an alpine instead of the nothingness that was in it., oil pan gasket..cause it leaks like a sieve(ic), some vinyl paint to fix the crappy job he did painting the vents(its not flaking), still have yet to detail it.....shes really really dirty.... like... really dirty...the air conditioning condenser needs to be put back on

things i still need to get or do: new exhaust from the header back..although the header(4-2-1) looks decent soo maybe just catback.. get the tranny fixed, new brake system, repair large cancer spots of rust i didnt see till i had the car home and up on ramps to see it under the rear panel... (any suggestions how to do it?) maybe someday replace the broken neons..even though they mostly still work..its amazing..the glass neon part is broken..but the lights still work... new front headlights....the one is majorally cracked(drivers side), fix the airfoil thats pulling its self off....tint..because my interior is a disgrace...


what does everyone suggest??

i really just wanna swap this pos engine for another one... but i dont have that money now... is it possible just to get the tranny fixed with out costing an arm and a leg?.. any one suggest a good cheaper exhaust brand?? i would love to get a greddy evo 2..but i dont know how they sound..and i dont like how it hurts my pocket... ive already sunk probably 300 dollars in the car since i got it..on top of the 1200 i bought it for with tax and title..
this car was totally not worth it... but i wanna make it worth something.... i might start to part out things ....
like i have stock seats.. stock this stock that...stock tails... blah blah blah.. i just need someone to help me... maybe if u have time instruct me on how to remove the splash gaurds from the drivers side?? or better yet..whats the best way to get the pan off... drop the exhaust off? and then take it down..or try to slip past the downpipe...

sounds like you got a bunch of plans ahead of you which is a good thing, I believe the splash gaurds should just be held on with a few screws, bolts, or nuts even.

Sorry, I don't have any suggestions on cheaper brands or anything else.

wow dude it sounds like you got alot of work ahead of you, ya sounds like your doing alot all at once, have to many plans..im kinda like that i have so many planes for spring but not enoph money...but good to here you got the civic

 

water pump, timing belt, clutch and flywheel are three things you should prolly replace when you get a used car

 

its an automatic..haha... no clutch.. but i need to either get a tranny rebuild..or get a tranny from another d16z6..im staying with this engine..i like it...

i replaced the thermostat..ill be doing the waterpump when i put the ac unit on.. timing belt is in good condition..checked that...

i tryed to drop my oil pan tonight..found out i had to remove the header to get it off..soo ill do that tomorrow...its too cold tonight... i tryed to just take off the downpipe..which came off really easy..and then have someone down on a crobar pulling..but i didnt have anyone helping soo a block of wood held where i pulled it up to..needless to say it wasnt enough..and i cant be in 2 places on the car at once doing the same thing..

grr please kill me... i popped out the interior vents today.. im unsure how im doing them.. i might do the silver with a blue top coat...or i might use this bright blue spray paint vinyl stuff i got..

ugh..yet another day ive spent going to school..and comming home to work from either 12 or 3-9/10.. on the civic..and still havent gotten anything dun..

 

ok soo i know this is old and no one cares.. but ive managed to f up my civic .. i tryed to drop the oil pan with out dropping the header.. made it leak 2 times as bad... but on the bright side my new rotors are here and im just waiting on pads.. my exhaust is somewhat fixed till i can get a megan catback.. i need new tires though thats bad... but another good thing is ive found time in my busy weekend to paint the interior over cause the kid fed it up.. white with blue.. it will be fun to see how ricy this looks
