Does any one know the difference between the Ipod Nano 1st gen and the 2nd gen?
Is there a quick way I can tell just by looking at the two or would I have to do something to get to the info?

1st gen the outside is very square, 2nd gen is rounded on the sides. Also 2nd gen came with more color options

1st Gen: 1GB, 2GB or 4GB, plastic/metal shell like the iPod, only in white or black.
2nd Gen: 2GB, 4GB or 8GB, aluminum shell like the mini, round edged, multiple colors

iTunes update, iPod sync update or iPod software update?
If it's iPod sync update then you probably selected the autosync.
