I interviewed a new installer the other day and one of my inevitable questions was do you have tools? He said he has some but used to have alot but they were all in his 1st gen eclipse when it was stolen the day before. Ended up hiring him on and the day he started, after finishing the new hire packet got a phone call that his car was found. Ended up being broke down on the bay bridge in the Bay Area. The morons who jacked it put 87 octane in it and while going across the bridge tried to hit boost and some major detonation occured in the exhuast manifold causeing the intire ring of the exhuast side of the turbo to crack open. They ditched the car there on the bridge and started walking. Cop offered them a ride cause of their broke down car and unsafe to walk on bridge. They gladly accepted. While the po po was driving them into the city he got the word that the car was stolen and their next stop was the slammer.


He went and limped the car home, with no boost, luckily the motor seems to be ok for now. His tools were all gone but may be able to get restatution out of them. Ill keep you updated on that. Just wanted to post this up cause I hate theives.

 

Oh yeah, he just ordered a 60 trim turbo kit, cant remeber what brand though.

 

Tell the installer to press full charges and make them pay for their filthy way of life.

 

I'm in the Bay area and cross that wicked bridge at least twice a day........Had I only known I could have offered them a ride....right back to the guy whos car they stole.
